It was time to build a road bike for myself. I wanted some modern things on this one like disc brakes and electronic shifting. I also wanted room for bigger 30mm tires so I could ride Colorado’s rough roads comfortably. I do not race on the road anymore but I do like long days in the mountains and open roads around Colorado. So comfortable geometry and ride quality are more important than speed for this bike.  I’m 5’6″ tall and have a short inseam. I made the top tube slightly sloping for a bit more standover height and so that I could run a longer carbon seat post for bump absorption.

The tubeset is from Nova. It is a medium weight butted chromoly setup chosen for durability. The main tubes are .8/.5/.8. thickness. The head tube and dropouts are from Paragon. Everything is tig welded together. The fork is a carbon fiber Columbus Gravel model. Final frame weight is just under 4 lbs.

I built the bike up with Di2 Ultegra and nice alloy wheels and final weight is around 20 lbs. It isn’t a lightweight racer, but the ride quality is wonderful. The traction and softer ride from the 28mm tires is fantastic.
